Lucas Ramirez has been named the he head boys basketball coach of the  Saguaro High School Sabercats who are located in Scottsdale, Arizona for the 2020-21 campaign. I would like to thank coach Ramirez for sharing some of his basketball journey with me.

Lucas Ramirez shared his journey with me on The Cannon Network by writing, “I am 26 years old and was hired in March to be the Head Coach at Saguaro High School in Scottsdale, Arizona. I graduated in 2011 from Horizon High School in 2011, I began coaching right away at the age of 18 coaching under a mentor of mine, Mike O’Guinn at North Canyon High School and the Arizona Rebels AAU program.

I spent 4 years working with them and then was luckily enough to be hired under legendary coach Matt Gordon at Phoenix College and spent 2 successful seasons there, the past 3 seasons I returned to my alma mater to be an assistant under Arizona Coaches Hall of Famer Jerry Conner. Looking forward to year one at Saguaro High School. Very blessed to be surrounded with great opportunities and people. Relationships are everything! I am a Social Studies teacher at heart!”

Arizona is a strong basketball state with talented players at the high school, junior college, NAIA, mid-major and high-major levels of NCAA. I am looking forward to following the Sabercats under coach Ramirez.
