SAM KIRBY IS THE INTERIM HEAD COACH FOR THE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM FOR THE COSUMNES RIVER COLLEGE HAWKS IN SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA IN THE BIG 8 CONFERENCE IN THE CCCAA IN JUCO BASKETBALL. HE WAS A 2-TIME ALL-LEAGUE SELECTION AND HELPED FOOTHILL HIGH SCHOOL WIN THE 2003 DIVISION III STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. HE HELPED SAN JOAQUIN DELTA COLLEGE MUSTANGS WIN 2 CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS AND WAS A 2-TIME ALL-CONFERENCE SELECTION. HE PLAYED FOR SEATTLE UNIVERSITY REDHAWKS WHEN HE SHOT 41.3% FROM DEEP AND AVERAGED 1.7 STEALS PER GAME. HIS COACHING CAREER INCLUDES BEING A STUDENT ASSISTANT FOR THE SEATTLE UNIVERSITY REDHAWKS, AN ASSISTANT COACH FOR SHORELINE COMMUNITY COLLEGE DOLPHINS, AN ASSISTANT COACH FOR CAÑADA COLLEGE COLTS, AN ASSISTANT COACH FOR CAL POLY MUSTANGS WHEN THEY WON THE BIG WEST CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONSHIP AND MADE THE SECOND ROUND OF THE NCAA DI MEN’S BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT IN 2014, AN ASSISTANT COACH FOR THE SEATTLE UNIVERSITY REDHAWKS AND AN ASSISTANT COACH FOR THE SACRAMENTO STATE HORNETS MEN’S BASKETBALL TEAMS RESPECTIVELY PRIOR TO BECOMING THE INTERIM HEAD COACH FOR THE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM FOR THE COSUMNES RIVER COLLEGE HAWKS.
