This post will take a look at great college basketball players from Alaska.
 
Trajan Langdon
 
Trajan Langdon played for the Duke University Blue Devils in Durham, North Carolina in the ACC in NCAA DI. As a member of the Blue Devils, he averaged 14.5 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.2 blocks while shooting 45.1% from the field, 42.6% from deep and 86.2% from the free throw line per game. He scored 1,974 points, grabbed 389 rebounds, dished out 255 assists, had 120 steals, blocked 25 shots and made 342 threes. In each of his 4 seasons with the Blue Devils, he averaged at least 11.3 points per game, scored at least 351 points, grabbed at least 65 rebounds, dished out at least 48 assists, had at least 13 steal sand made at least 59 threes. In the 1998-99 campaign, his 112 threes were good for 1st in ACC and NCAA DI play. His 342 threes are good for 4th all-time in ACC play.
 
Carlos Boozer
 
Carlos Boozer played for the Duke University Blue Devils in Durham, North Carolina in the ACC in NCAA DI where he averaged 14.9 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1 steal and 0.7 blocks while shooting 63.1% from the field and 74.1% from the free throw line per game. He scored 1,506 points, grabbed 724 rebounds, dished out 115 assists, had 96 steals and blocked 72 shots. In each of his 3 seasons with the Blue Devils, he averaged at least 14.9 points per game, scored at least 425 points, grabbed at least 213 rebounds and dished out at least 37 assists.
 
Mario Chalmers
 
Mario Chalmers played for the University of Kansas Jayhawks in Lawrence, Kansas in the Big 12 Conference in NCAA DI where he averaged 12.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 2.6 steals and 0.4 blocks while shooting 48.6% from the field, 41.9% from deep and 76.7% from the free throw line per game. He scored 1,341 points, grabbed 309 rebounds, dished out 420 assists, had 283 steals, blocked 44 shots and made 180 threes. In each of his 3 seasons with the Jayhawks, he averaged at least 11.5 points per game, scored at least 379 points, grabbed at least 74 rebounds, dished out at least 124 assists, had at least 89 steals and made at least 48 threes.
 
Leif Karlberg
 

Leif Karlberg who played for The Master’s University Mustangs in Santa Clarita, California in the GSAC in NAIA from 2009-2013 when Chuck Martin was the head coach. I was the team manager for the Mustangs from 2010-14 and I enjoyed working with Leif every day. As a member of the Mustangs, Leif averaged 11 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.1 blocks while shooting 40.2% from the field, 36.3% from deep and 73.3% from the free throw line per game. He scored 1,358 points, grabbed 387 rebounds, dished out 142 assists, had 173 steals, blocked 12 shots and made 322 threes which are 2nd most in Mustangs history to Mike Penberthy who made 444 threes. Leif averaged at least 8.5 points, scored at least 262 points, grabbed at least 61 rebounds, dished out at least 23 assists, had at least 39 steals and made at least 69 threes in each of his 4 seasons with the Mustangs.

 
Damen Bell-Holter
 
Damen Bell-Holter played for the Oral Roberts University Golden Eagles in Tulsa, Oklahoma in The Summit League in NCAA DI. As a member of the Golden Eagles, he averaged 10.5 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.4 steals and 1.1 blocks while shooting 48.7% from the field, 28.9% from deep and 72.7% from the free throw line per game. He scored 1,389 points, grabbed 878 rebounds, dished out 143 assists, had 51 steals, blocked 139 shots and made 26 threes. In each of his 4 seasons with the Golden Eagles, he averaged at least 4.6 points per game, scored at least 153 points, grabbed at least 107 rebounds, dished out at least 15 assists and had at least 18 blocks.
 
Adam Klie
 
Adam Klie played for the UCSD Tritons in La Jolla, California when they were in the CCAA in NCAA DII. The Tritons are now in the Big West Conference in NCAA DI. As a member of the Tritons, he averaged 12.9 points and 5.3 rebounds while shooting 51.8% from the field, 36% from deep and 63.6% from the free throw line per game. He scored 1,524 points, grabbed 625 rebounds, dished out 338 assists, had 101 steals, blocked 25 shots and made 67 threes. In each of his 4 seasons with the Tritons, he averaged at least 10.1 points per game, scored at least 262 points, grabbed at least 97 rebounds, dished out at least 38 assists, had at least 23 steals and made at least 11 threes. His game high in points was 29, his game high in rebounds was 13, his game high in assists was 9 and his game high in threes was 4.
 
Dane Kuiper 
 
Dane Kuiper played for the University of New Mexico Lobos in Albuquerque, New Mexico in the MWC in NCAA DI. As a member of the Lobos, he averaged 5 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.2 blocks while shooting 37.4% from the field, 30.7% from deep and 80.2% from the free throw line per game. He scored 568 points, grabbed 275 rebounds, dished out 152 assists, had 84 steals, blocked 28 shots and made 93 threes. In 3 of seasons with the Lobos, he averaged at least 5.6 points per game, scored at least 155 points, grabbed at least 70 rebounds, dished out at least 35 assists, had at least 20 steals and made at least 23 threes.
 
Colton Lauwers 
 
Colton Lauwers played for the Adams State Grizzlies where he averaged 3.3 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game and then transferred to UAA Seawolves in Anchorage, Alaska in the GNAC in NCAA DII. As a member of the Seawolves, he averaged 5.9 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists while shooting 38% from the field, 37.2% from deep and 74.1% from the free throw line per game. He scored 511 points, grabbed 252 rebounds, dished out 201 assists, had 51 steals, blocked 6 shots and made 113 threes. In each of his 3 seasons with the Seawolves, he averaged at least 4.5 points per game, scored at least 134 points, grabbed at least 64 rebounds, dished out at least 47 assists and made at least 84 threes.
 
These are just some of the great college basketball players from Alaska. I managed Leif Karlberg’s college team and I am excited to follow future stars from Alaska.
