I was the team manager of The Master’s University Mustangs in the GSAC in NAIA DI from 2010-14 and Austin Loeb was a big man on our team from 2012-14. He played for Irvine Valley College Lasers in OEC under head coach Jerry Hernandez from 2010-12. I’d like to thank Austin for participating in my basketball journey series.

In sharing his journey with me, Austin wrote, “After college I started my own club program ASAP basketball: ASAP stands for Achieving Students Athletes Potential: we had 4 teams two 4th/5th grade teams and two 7th/8th grade teams. I also coached at Brethren Christian my Alma Mater for 2 seasons.

In 2018 I was named assistant Athletic Director at Crean Lutheran. We also made the jump into an all public school league(empire league) I started as the lead assistant for the varsity and Coach Nate Klitzing. In our first year together we went 7-3 in league and made it to the div 2A semifinals of CIF.

This year we look to add to the continued success as a basketball program. Personally I look to continue the growth of Crean Lutherans entire Athletic department as we look to compete in a traditionally very tough empire league.

Crean Lutheran has made Athletics a focus investing in a 2 million dollar state of the art weight facility and installing new turf fields, lighting and sounds system which ended up being around 1.3 million dollars. As we look to the future, our next investing which should be coming in the next 2-3 years is a new gymnasium. “
